SHERIDAN, Wyo. - Alene D. (Herseim) Semingsen, 77, a former Great Falls resident, died of natural causes Tuesday, March 1, at a Sheridan, Wyo., care facil-ity.Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. today at Champion Ferries Funeral Home of Sheridan, and her funeral is 10 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Champion Ferries Funeral Home is handling arrangements.Alene was born Nov. 15, 1933, in Great Falls, Mont., to Amil and Jessie (Sorensen) Herseim. She grew up in Great Falls and at-tended Franklin Elementary School, graduated from Great Falls High School and attended the College of Great Falls for two years.She married Ray Semingsen on April 29, 1950, in Great Falls. She was a bookkeeper working in the office of the College of Great Falls, and upon their marriage, the couple moved to Sheridan, Wyo., where she became the bookkeeper for Big Horn Reser-voir.Alene was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan, and sang in the church choir. She also was active in Lutheran Women's Missionary, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and the quilters at the church.She enjoyed walking, hiking, back-packing, round dancing and square dancing, and her house plants. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.She is survived by her husband, Ray, of Sheridan, Wyo.; son Lynn (Arlys) Semingsen of Gillette, Wyo.; daughter Marley Miller of Sheridan; brothers Earl (Vonne) Herseim of Great Falls, and Rex Herseim of Spokane, Wash.; sister Diana (Mike) Griffin of Fargo, N.D.; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.Alene was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Amil and Alvin Herseim.Memorials in her memory may be made to the Martin Luther Grammar School, 1325 Burton St., Sheridan, WY 82801.
