Beatrice “Tress” McClean, 95, of Sheridan, WY, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
“Tress” was born March 26, 1914 in York, Nebraska to Ralph and Goldie (Elarth) Trussell. The family later moved to Sheridan, WY to open a bakery.
“Tress” graduated from Sheridan High School in 1933. She received her teaching certificate at the University of Montana and taught in Big Horn County, Montana for several years.
She later moved to California where she met an married a cattle rancher, Robert Moller. They soon moved their registered Hereford cattle to a ranch near Big Horn, WY. She enjoyed being a ranch homemaker and cook before Bob’s death in 1983. She then moved to her cozy home in Sheridan on North Heights.
“Tress” was later reunited with an old friend, Kenneth McClean. They were married in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho in 1985. They were married for 15 years before his death in 2000.
“Tress” was a member of the First Christian Church in Sheridan. She enjoyed reading, going to luncheons with friends and family and living with her cat, “Queenie.” She was a classy, strong and independent woman, deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Mrs. McClean was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Bob Moller; her second husband, Kenneth McClean; and sister, Mildred Lomax.
“Tress” is survived by one brother, Bud Trussell, of Boise, Idaho, one step-son, Kenneth (Buster) McLean II, and wife, Brenda; 2 step-daughters in Denver, CO; one nephew; one niece; one great nephew; and one great niece.
Funeral service for Mrs. McLean will be 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the First Christian Church with the Rev. Douglas Goodwin officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
