Carla Mae Kurtz

About:

Carla Mae Kurtz, a beloved wife, mother, and sister, unexpectedly passed away June 1, 2022 from medical complications at the Sheridan Memorial Hospital.

Carla was born, Carla Mae Mediate, to her parents Agnes Faye Mediate and Frank D. Mediate on January 12, 1975 in Sheridan, Wyoming. She spent her early years with her family in a home on Downer Addition before they moved to the family farm on Big Goose Road. Carla attended the local Sheridan school until she graduated from Sheridan High School. She then worked at the Arctic Circle and Bino’s Grocery. She also worked at the Sheridan Junior High as a cook for a short time.

Carla married Darryl Kurtz on September 13, 2003 and began building a life together on the family farm on Big Goose Road. Where together they raised their daughter, Valerie H. Kurtz.

Carla then spent her days caring for her family and animals on the farm. She loved making jewelry for all of her family, stamping, reading, and growing a large flower garden.

Carla will be missed dearly by all close to her. Carla was a woman full of life. She just bubbled over with energy. With her huge caring heart, she was always caring for those around her before herself. Her daughter and husband will miss how she wore her heart on her sleeve so they always knew how much she loved them.

Carla Kurz is survived by her husband, Darryl Kurtz and daughter Valerie H. Kurtz. Her brother, George Mediate and wife, Crystal. And Kris and Amber Powers. Her nieces and nephews; Kyle, Logan, and William Mediate, Sierra, and Kolten Powers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Agnes Mediate, sister Crista Mediate, grandparents Dominic and Rosina Mediate and Floyd and Georgianna Bates.

Pallbearers: Darryl Kurtz, George Mediate, Kyle Mediate, Kris Powers, Mike Harper, and Dennis Kurtz

Honorary Pallbearers: Frank Mediate, Agnes Mediate, Crista Mediate, and Darryl Kurtz Sr.

A public viewing will take place at First Baptist Church, 3179 Big Horn Ave., at 1:00 pm on Friday, June 17, 2022. A memorial service for Carla will start after the viewing at 2:00 pm with Pastor Bill Dill officiating. Following the service, interment will take place at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with a reception back at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Clear Creek Catering, 1620 Clear Creek Avenue, Clearmont, WY 82835, to cover catering expenses for Carla’s family and friends at her reception.
