David John Taberna, 54, of Sheridan died Friday, June 12, 2009, at his residence. Memorial services will be later with arrangements by Champion Ferries Funeral Home.‍Born Oct. 3, 1954, in Denver to Louis and Dorothy Taberna, he moved with his family to Missoula, Mont., in 1965. He attended Hellgate High School until joining the United States Navy in 1972. He was honorably discharged in 1975. He attended Northern Montana College in Havre and received his Airframe and Powerplant mechanics certification from Cheyenne Aerotech. He worked as custodial supervisor of the University of Montana’s University Center for 10 years. He moved to Sheridan in 2007. Known for a quick wit and infectious laugh, he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Survivors include his father of Sheridan; his mother of Missoula; a sister, Debra of Sparks, Nev.; two brothers, Chris and Tom of Missoula; two sons, Jim and Tyler of Culbertson, Mont.; a daughter, Jamie of Cheyenne; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
