Eileen M. Kumor, 96, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Sheridan Manor.

Mrs. Kumor was born July 19, 1915 in Overly, North Dakota to Melvin and Emma (Svingen) Knutson. She grew up and attended schools in Overly, N. D., Midwest, WY, and Sheridan, WY, and graduated from High School in Chippewa Falls, WI.

Mrs. Kumor married Andrew Kumor January 7, 1937, and was a homemaker. Her mother made her home with the Kumor’s for 10 years after Mr. Knutson died and she was a delight to have with us. “Her youngest brother, Carl, also lived with the Kumor family for several years while he was in high school. We enjoyed him, and his children were so much a part of the family. We were very blessed to have them with us.”

Mrs. Kumor was a member of the B. P. O. Does, the Sheridan Women’s Club, several Bridge Clubs, and the Trinity Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Kumor’s main interest was playing Bridge. She also enjoyed going to lunch with her friends, and when her husband was alive, they would go fishing every chance that they could. They also enjoyed camping and spending time in the mountains.

Mrs. Kumor was preceded in death be her parents; her husband; and her brother, Carl.

She is survived by one brother, Lyle Knutson, of Sheridan, WY; two nieces, Gayle Laurent, (Rick), of Sheridan, WY, and Cyndi Songer, (Derek), of Billings, MT; two nephews, Bruce Knutson, of Sheridan, WY, and George Knutson, (Linda), of Bellingham, WA; four great nephews, Drew Gillett, of Denver, CO, Ian Songer, of Billings, MT, Kevin Knutson Roberts, of Morgantown, W. V., and Michael Knutson, of Bellingham, WA; and one great niece, Emma Laurent, of Laramie, WY.

A memorial graveside service for Mrs. Kumor will be held this summer in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
