Helene A. Waddell, 95, of Sheridan died Tuesday, June 30, 2009, in Sheridan Manor. Memorial graveside service is 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, in the Oblong Square Masonic No. 8 section of the Sheridan Municipal cemetery with the Rev. Brian Johnson officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Born Sept. 24, 1913, in Linwood, Neb., to Robert and Mary (Bobek) Franklin, she grew up in Linwood and graduated from Linwood High School. In 1934 she came to Sheridan, where she received nurse’s training. She married John “Fritz” Waddell in Billings on Feb. 8, 1935. The couple resided in Sheridan. Mrs. Waddell worked at Bentley's Clothing Store for 25 years and was a meals program volunteer at Heritage Towers. She was a member of Naomi Chapter 2 Order of Eastern Star, Social Order of Beauceant, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Mr. Waddell died in 1979.
