Richard Barbula, 80, of Sheridan, WY died Sunday, August 30, 2009, in his Sheridan home.

Richard was born March 12, 1929, in Monarch, WY to Hank & Alma (Legerski) Barbula.

Richard grew up and attended schools in Sheridan. He served in the U.S. Army. After the service, he worked several jobs including coal mining, construction and the oil fields. He married Darlene Braden on April 15, 1995, in Colorado Springs, CO. Richard was a member of the American Legion and enjoyed being in the mountains camping, hunting, fishing and he loved to garden.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, step parents, wife Evelyn and his son Jimmy.

Richard is survived by his wife Darlene; sons Mike, Dick, Joe, Carl, David and Robert; daughters Terri, Barbara, Veronica, Diane, Sherry, Evelyn and Ronni; forty one grandchildren; twenty three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service will be 2:00pm on Wednesday in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery with the Rev. Terral Bearden officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
