Hollis L. “Holly” Davidson, 82, of Sheridan, WY died Tuesday, January 5, 2010, in his Sheridan home surrounded by his family.
Holly was born September 6, 1927, in Sheridan to Lambert & Florence (Achenbach) Davidson.
Holly grew up and graduated from high school in Sheridan. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in Korea. After the service, he returned to Sheridan where he married LaVurne Cox on December 25, 1948. He worked as a machinist for Holly Sugar Factory and Sheridan Iron Works. Later he was a mechanic for Kennedy Auto and Skarr Motor until he went to work as a machinist for Valley Motor Supply where he retired in 1983. Holly enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood and metal working, restoring antique cars, and building and fabricating anything and everything his family and friends needed.
Holly was preceded in death by his parents.
Holly is survived by his wife, LaVurne, of Sheridan; sons Bruce and Dan of Sheridan; daughter Connie Turley of Sheridan; brother Norris Davidson of Story, WY; nine grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Memorial service will be 1:00pm on Saturday (Jan. 9th) from Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Jeremy Mason officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home. A luncheon reception will follow the service at Sheridan Senior Center.
Memorials in memory of Holly may be made to the Hospice of the Big Horns, or the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
