Iris E. Cahhal, 86, of Story, Wyoming, died Thursday, February 7, 2013 at her residence.
Mrs. Cahhal was born August 3, 1926 in Montezuma, Iowa to Byron and Eva (Steele) Playle. She grew up and attended schools in Des Moines, Iowa, graduating from East High School in Des Moines.
Iris married Derrill Cahhal February 20, 1955 in Des Moines. Her husband always joked that the church they were married in burned to the ground 2 weeks after their wedding.
Mrs. Cahhal was a homemaker, and was a life-long member of the Church of Christ. She also enjoyed sewing, making candy, and especially enjoyed caring for and spending time with her family.
Iris was preceded in death by her parents; one bother, Ken Playle; and two sisters, Icelene Simpson, and Inez Vestal.
She is survived by her husband, Derrill Cahhal, of Story, Wyoming; two sons, Russ Cahhal, of Buffalo, Wyoming, and Rex Cahhal, of Story, Wyoming, and their spouses; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; numerous grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family memorial at a later date. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
