Jaymie M. Allison, 30, died Thursday, January 13, 2011, of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Savannah, GA where she was currently stationed with the US Army.
Jaymie was born August 13, 1980 to James William and Michael Marie (Wagner) Allison in Sheridan, Wyoming.
Jaymie grew up and attended school in Big Horn, Wyoming. She was active in all aspects of school and enjoyed playing basketball and running track. She loved the out doors spending most of her weekends camping, hunting and fishing with her family. At the age of 14 she killed her big horn ram while hunting with her father in the Shoshone Mountain Range of Wyoming.
Jaymie married Christopher J. Watson in Sheridan, Wyoming April 1999. Jaymie and Chris had three children, Robert James (11), Mollie Marie (9), and William Spencer (8). They separated November 2004. She married Anthony Erlenbaugh in 2006, they separated in 2008.
She joined the US Army in August of 2006. During the course of her enlistment she participated in two deployments. She was certified in air traffic control during her first deployment to Iraq. Upon returning from Iraq she transferred from Ft Stewart, GA to Ft Hunter, GA. She participated in her second deployment to Afghanistan returning in November 2010 where she achieved the rank of Sergeant and graduated from college with a bachelor degree in general studies and military history. At the time of her accident she had received her papers to transfer to Ft Rucker, Alabama to train in the pilots program. The US Army was a good fit for Jaymie and she truly enjoyed the challenges and rewards offered by the military. Jaymie received the following medals while in the US Army: 3 Army Commendation Medals, 2 Army Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Ribbon, both the Iraq and Afghanistan Campaign Medals, the NATO Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Medal, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.
Jaymie was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Dona Mae (Stanton) Allison and her maternal grandfather Rodger Dean Wagner.
She is survived by her parents James and Michael Allison and her three beloved children Robert, Mollie and William Watson of Big Horn, Wyoming. She is also survived by her sisters Amber Lee Allison of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Autumn Marie Mullenix (Dylan) of Brazil, Indiana, paternal grandfather Arthur “Joe” Allison (Fay) of Sheridan, Wyoming and maternal grandmother Barbara Cassel (Zane) of Evanston, Wyoming and two nieces Cheyenne Marie (10) and Aspen Mecrea Mullenix (8); and numerous aunts and uncles including Judy Collins (Patrick), Arthur Allison, Jr., William Wagner (Jenny), Jackie Wagner, Cameron Cassel (Barbara) and Jeremy Cassel (Bobbi) and many great uncles, aunts and cousins.
We count our lives to have been truly blessed by having Jaymie as a daughter, mother, sister and friend she will be deeply missed.
Funeral service will be 1:00pm on Friday (Jan. 28th) from Champion Ferries Funeral Home Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Big Horn,Wyoming. Military rites are by the Wyoming Honor Guard. A celebration of Jaymie’s life will be the Big Horn Elementary School Gym at 3:00pm. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
