About:
JOAN M. WETSCH BAUMANN
BORN MAY 10, 1965 - OCTOBER 20, 2009
Joan Marie Wetsch Baumann, 44, of Sheridan WY died October 20, 2009 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident east of Buffalo, Wyoming. Born May 10, 1965 in Bismark, ND to Jim and Jean Wetsch of Mandan, ND. Joan grew up in Mandan and graduated from Mandan Senior High School in 1983, she then attended and graduated from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. It was there she met her husband and love of her life, Dallas Baumann. They were married in Los Altos, CA June 20, 1987, and lived in Sunneyvale, CA. In 1988 they moved to Berthoud, CO where she worked for the FAA Air Traffic Control Administration office in Longmont, CO. Several years later Joan and her husband moved to Sheridan, WY where they purchased, owned and operated the Radio Shack store for 5 years. Following the sale of the store, Joan accepted a position with HUB International in Sheridan. She enjoyed her job and made many friends there. On many of her days off, she would help her husband with the family business at Accents of Wyoming. They spent much time together fly fishing, camping and Joan's love for browsing stores and shopping. They loved to be together, whether it was working at the store, around their home or enjoying the outdoors. Joan enjoyed reading but most of all she enjoyed cooking for friends and family, taking treats to work and baking for days, preparing for large family get-togethers. It was not unusual for Joan to have nearly completed all of her Christmas shopping and have the presents delivered by June. She was extremely organized and lived by lists, calendars and most of all, Post-It notes. She never missed sending a birthday card and they always arrived on time. Family was a priority for Joan. Almost yearly she would visit her family and her 96 year old grandmother in ND or her 96 year old grandfather in MO. She was a wonderful wife, daughter, sister, aunt and daughter in-law. Joan's tranquility, graceful personality and friendliness will be missed. Joan is survived by her husband, Dallas, her parents, Jim and Jean Wetsch, Mandan, her sister Jerri (Loren) Volk, niece, Dana, and nephew, Eric, Elk River, MN, maternal grandfather, Vaughn Liter, Shelbyville, MO, her paternal grandmother, Veronica Schafer, Mandan, father and mother in-law, Wayne and Eidella, Sheridan, brother in-law, Wayne D.
