Larry E. Hodges, 73, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Sunday, December 23, 2012 in the Billings Clinic, Billings, Montana.
Mr. Hodges was born November 11, 1939 in Kirksville, Missouri to Floyd and Roxie (Newman) Hodges. He grew up and attended schools in Newton and Grinnell, Iowa.
Larry married Kay Snook in Newton, Iowa, and they had three children. On March 3, 1978, Larry married Karol Williams Bleakney.
Mr. Hodges worked at the Vernon Company in Newton, Iowa until moving to Tucson, Arizona where he and Karol managed apartment complexes. The couple moved to Sheridan, Wyoming in 1993.
Larry attended the First Baptist Church in Sheridan.
Since his retirement he spent many hours in his workshop creating intricate woodworking projects. He enjoyed showing them and giving them as gifts. He also enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife, Karol, of Sheridan, Wyoming; three sons, Curt Hodges, (Missy), of Newton, Iowa, Mike Bleakney, (Mary), of Newton, Iowa, and Dan Bleakney, of Napa, California; three daughters, Lynn Patterson, (Roger), of Newton, Iowa, Kendra Simpson, (Eric), of Zionsville, Indiana, and Deb Bleakney, (Rod Snodgrass), of Newton, Iowa; two brothers, Joe Hodges, (Nyla), and Doug Hodges, (Evelyn), both of Newton, Iowa; one sister, Lucinda Hagen, of Tucson, Arizona; 8 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial service for Mr. Hodges will be 10:00 A. M. Friday, December 28, 2012 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor John Craft officiating. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
