Leona F. Taylor, 88, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Tuesday, December 28, 2010 in Westveiw Health Care Center.

Mrs. Taylor was born February 6, 1922 in Imperial, Nebraska to George and Neva (Kimberling) Burtis. She grew up and attended schools in Imperial and graduated from Imperial High School.

Leona married Roland “Bud” Taylor December 23, 1942 in Washington, D. C. The couple lived in Colorado and Nebraska from the mid 50’s through the mid 80’s. After “Bud’s” death in 1996, Mrs. Taylor moved to Sheridan in 1998.

Mrs. Taylor enjoyed croqueting and cooking. She also attended the Assembly of God Church in Sheridan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 1 sister; and 5 brothers.

Leona is survived by two sons, George and LeRoy Taylor, both of Ranchester, WY; one brother, Don Burtis, of Sheridan, WY; 4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.

Graveside services for Mrs. Taylor will be 1:00 P. M. Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery in Imperial, NB with Liemer Funeral Home of Imperial, NB handling the arrangements. Local arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
