Lois E. Folkins, 100, of Sheridan, WY died Tuesday, June 23, 2009, in Sheridan Manor.

Lois was born March 13, 1909, in McClusky, N. Dakota to Charles & Thea (Olson) Peterson.

Lois grew up on the family farm and graduated from McClusky High School. She graduated from Valley City Teachers College and taught elementary school for several years. She married Harold Folkins July 2, 1931 in McClusky. They lived in several places in N. Dakota until settling in Sheridan in 1962. She worked for Carl’s IGA for several years. She was a long time member of Trinity Lutheran Church were she was active in Circle Two and the Service Group as well as being a member of Beauceant. Lois enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1999.

Lois is survived by her sons Calvin of Story, WY, Carlyle of Sacramento, CA and Cleon of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11:00am on Thursday (July 2nd) from Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip Wold officiating. Interment will be in Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Memorials may benefit Trinity Lutheran Church.
