Lois R. Namtvedt, 81, of Sheridan, WY, died July 6th, 2010, at Sheridan Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Namtvedt was born September 4, 1928 in Sheridan to Wade H. and Florence (Madden) Ratcliff.
Lois was raised in Dayton and Dietz, WY. She graduated from Sheridan High School with the Class of 1946. She then went on to The University of Wyoming and met Milo Namtvedt. They were married in 1948. Lois worked in The University of Wyoming Athletic Department for head football coach Bowden Wyatt and head basketball coach Ev Shelton from 1949 to 1951. While there, she also tutored student athletes. Mr. Namtvedt went to work for Peter Kiewit and Sons in 1952. Milo and Lois settled in Sheridan in 1966 where they continued to raise their children, Conrad and Karyn, and Milo continued his work with Peter Kiewit.
Mrs. Namtvedt enjoyed her family, The American Legion 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle, and Wyoming Cowboys athletics.
She was a member of The First Presbyterian Church, The Big Horn Mountain Eagles, American Legion 7th Cavalry Drum and Bugle Auxiliary, The Cowboy Joe Club at the Coaches Club Level and was the University of Wyoming Alumni Association Football Foundation 2008 College Football Fan of the Year.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Mrs. Namtvedt is survived by one son, Conrad Namtvedt of Sheridan; one daughter, Karyn Namtvedt Fuller of Franklin, TN; and three grandchildren, Melissa Czech, Lindsey Fuller, and Brock Fuller.
Viewing will be held on Friday, July 9th, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on July 10th, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with internment to follow at Sheridan Municipal Cemetery.
