Margaret Cole, 84, of Sheridan, WY died Sunday, August 23, 2009, in Memorial Hospital of Sheridan County.

Margaret was born July 19, 1925, in Prairie Creek, Indiana to Walter & Thelma (Branson) Richards.

Margaret grew up and graduated from high school in Prairie Creek. She met Gordon Cole when they were attending Indiana University and they were married on December 20, 1944. She worked for the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant during the war. After the war,
they moved to Chicago. She later graduated from Roosevelt University with a degree in English with honors. In 1984, they retired to Terra Haute, IN. Mr. Cole died in 2004. Margaret came to Sheridan in 2008 to be near her son. She enjoyed golfing, fishing and her dog “Bozeman”.

Margaret is survived by her son Dr. Richard Cole & his wife Allison of Sheridan; sister Alice Denhardt & her husband Robert of North Port, FL; four grandchildren Janelle Cole, Gareth Cole & his wife Cara, Stephanie Stanton & her husband Cody, and Diana Cole; and two great grandchildren Evan & Callie Cole.

Memorial service will be in Indiana at a late date.
Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
