Raymond G. Semingsen, 81, of Sheridan, Wyoming, died Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Sheridan Manor.
Mr. Semingsen was born August 21, 1931 in Kenmare, North Dakota to Sever G. and Alma (Siefert) Semingsen. He grew up and attended schools in Great Falls, Montana.
Ray married Alene D. Herseim April 29, 1950 in Great Falls.
Mr. Semingsen worked for the Great Falls Tribune in the mailing department. He then went to work for the Great Falls Meat Company for 20 years as a sausage maker, then for 2 years as superintendent.
The family moved to Ogden, Utah to work for Griffith Labs as a sales representative selling spices and equipment. In 1972 the Semingsen's moved to Story, Wyoming. Ray and his wife, Alene, started working for School District #1 at Big Horn where Ray was a custodian. Ray Retired in 1994.
Mr. Semingsen was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Falls, Montana, the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sheridan, Wyoming where he served on the board of trustees and also was an usher, the Butchers Union, was a member of the Big Horn Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years, did volunteer work for the Big Horn National Forest for 5 years, and Labor for Christ building churches.
Ray enjoyed hunting, fishing, building, carving, reading, hiking, and working in his yard.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Alene; and one brother, Bill.
Mr. Semingsen is survived by one daughter, Marley Ann Miller, of Sheridan, Wyoming; one son, Lynn Semingsen, of Gillette, Wyoming; one sister, Sue Brone, of Great Falls, Montana; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 1 great, great grandchild.
