Richard P. Schneck, Sr, 54, of Sheridan, WY, died Friday, October 1, 2010 in St. Vincent’s Health Care in Billings, Montana.

Mr. Schneck was born April 10, 1956 in Allentown, Pennsylvania to Elroy and Grace (Warren) Schneck. He grew up and attended schools in Allentown, Pennsylvania and Tecumseh, Kansas.

Richard served in the United States Air Force from August, 1973 through December, 1974. He then served in the United States Army from December 1974 through July, 1987.

During his years of service, Richard was an infantryman and Drill Sergeant and was a recipient of the Army Service Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal, the Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, 3rd Award, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon with number 2, the Overseas Service Ribbon with number 2, and the Expert Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16.

Mr. Schneck enjoyed stamp collecting, puzzles, the computer, and video games.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Schneck.

Richard is survived by his wife, Donna L. Schneck, of Sheridan, WY; his mother, Grace Schneck, of Allentown, PA; one son, Richard Paul Schneck, Jr., of Sheridan, WY; three daughters, Ann M. Gooding, Sheridan, WY, Jennifer Gooding, Dudley, NC, and Grace C. Breckenridge, of TX; two brothers, James Schneck, of FL, and Thomas Schneck, of ME; three sisters, Linda Kuhns, and Sandra Herman, both of Allentown, PA, and Deborah Schell, of Fleetwood, PA; and 8 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mr. Schneck will be from 5:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. Friday, October 8, 2010 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11:00 A. M. Saturday, October 9, 2010 at Champion Ferries Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Wold officiating. Interment will be in the Sheridan Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.
