Graveside services for Sheila Lurene Benson Garber will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the Sheridan Elks Cemetery with Pastor Bob Miller officiating. An informal reception will follow at the Elks Lodge, 45 W. Brundage St., in Sheridan. Arrangements are with Champion Ferries Funeral Home.

Sheila passed away in her sleep on Friday, April 29, 2011 in Colusa, CA. Sheila was born on September 26, 1920 to Lora and Emil Benson in Big Horn. After graduating from Big Horn High School, Sheila married Cecil Garber. Sheila and Cecil spent the majority of their lives on their ranch on Bird Farm Road. They sold the ranch and moved to Sheridan in 1989 where they lived until moving to Colusa in 1998.

Sheila was preceded in death by Cecil in 2000. She is survived by her children Karen and son-in-law Richard Dickinson of Sheridan, formerly of Sacramento, CA, Lynda Townsend of Colusa, CA and Nicki Stewart of Fairbanks, AK; sister Karleen and brother-in-law Paul Anderson of Laramie; and 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
